Holistic care is about treating the whole person — providing for your physical, mental, and spiritual needs. All good holistic medicine practitioners understand that true health is rooted in providing for all the aspects affect your being. Knowing being unwell in one aspect affects you in others. Take stress, for example. It's a psychological response, but it can also cause physical symptoms, such as headaches, trouble sleeping, weight gain, and muscle pain. Of course, it works both ways, and being physically ill can cause you to feel anxious or depressed. Meanwhile, your spirituality and your relationships can boost your mental and physical health. Studies show that having close friendships lowers your blood pressure, reduces your stress levels, and can even improve your chances of surviving cancer.
Understanding this, we will take a holistic approach to your health not just address your immediate symptoms. We will explore all of these things and more to understand you — your overall health and your life — together we make a plan to deal with the immediate issues using alternative and complementary medicine as needed and create a long term plan and direction that is personalized to improve your health & wellness. My goal - like yours - is to see you happy, healthy and to see you thrive.
“We are what we think, all that we are arises with our thoughts, with our thoughts we make the world.” One of the first steps in true holistic care is to learn to manage and put effort into our thoughts, the way we think, it will change us, and thus the world. A good exercise to start is to try and focus on creating within our minds an attitude of gratitude. This means making it a conscious habit to express thankfulness and appreciation for every part of your life. Having an attitude of gratitude means you operate from a place of abundance, rather than scarcity. Safety rather than fear. If you look at the bad, it will find you. If you look for the the good, it will embrace you. One of the best alternative and complementary medicines a holistic practitioner can prescribe is the practice of positive thinking. This sounds simple, but is actually hard to master. This is the most effective step one can take to providing self holistic care and a thriving form of wellness.
Take the time to do things that nourish your spirit. That you enjoy. Most people spend a lot of energy trying to please others or worrying about things that will probably never come to be, and even if they do, they are seldom as bad as we thought. So much waisted time and negative energy. Use some of this energy and time to do things that please you. Take a walk, enjoy a hot bath, read a book, watch a movie, call a friend and talk about something or nothing specific. Invite someone you just met out for coffee. Make the effort to do the things that make you happy, and your health and world will change for the better. This alone can be a great alternative and complementary medicine and a big step in your own personal holistic care daily regiment. When you are happy your body responds with better overall health, better immunity, better sleep, better weight management. Through this you will thrive the way your were meant to do.
